A rain garden is a passive type of rainwater harvesting. They collect stormwater runoff and allows it to slowy enter and spread into the soil. They are also used to give an aesthetic appeal to rainwater harvesting. |

A rain garden takes advantage of a variety of plants, typically native to the area, and soils type to filter and disperse stormwater back into the ground. They can aid in improving water quality a well by filtering the water before it makes it's way into the water table.
